At first I didn't like this new Batwing as much, but that could be due to the way it was filmed and didn't actually make that much of an appearance or show any exciting nor believeable functions. The scene with the Batwing and Batboat was pretty pointless and a letdown as they were only on screen for a very short time. I wonder what the film makers/modelers thought of their hard work being on screen for such a brief moment? Still, I did buy the Batboat kit and thought it was pretty well crafted. It did look pretty cool and like many of Batman's vehicles, tempted me to do larger functional recreations of it!

I am sure that the model makers felt privaleged that their models made it on screen at all. Let alone a "brief moment"!!!

You may be right! I just know that often model makers and make-up artists can often be let down/disappointed when their work isn't shown for as long as the director/storyboards had originally planned, or when a well crafted prop or an excellent make-up job looks bad on screen due to bad choice of lighting or camera angles. In this case, it's by no fault of the prop/monster makers but their reputation can still be affected by this. An example of this is the Morlocks in the recent 'The Time Machine' film (love the film by the way). Stan Winston's Studio created the Morlock creatures, but said himself that the way they ended up on camera (outside in broad daylight) was not how they were intended to be filmed originally, and Stan Winston's team had designed the creatures in a way that they look good in a different environment, so he was let down by the way they turned out in the final film. Stan has a great reputation as an effects artist/monster & character maker and wouldn't want it affected in this way. Anyway... I'm just saying I wish the 2 Bat vehicles were on film longer and not both destroyed straight away! I will still get both the models though, and plan to put lighting and a mini jet turbine into an enlargement of the Batboat made by myself. ;D

I have to agree, they did have a very short screen time. Maybe when you get those radio-controlled babies done, we'll see much more screen time if you decide to film them? ;D

I will certainly try to get as much action footage as I can from my models.
